Bio:
As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Mathias has advanced
training to perform a wide range of interventional cardiology
procedures. These minimally invasive procedures include stent
implantation and angioplasty, which typically require shorter
hospital stays and recovery times, when compared with traditional
cardiac or bypass surgery. Before joining BayCare Clinic in 2004,
Dr. Mathias maintained a private medical practice in Milwaukee. He
previously served as co-director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab
at St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee, along with holding academic
appointments at Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Mathias has been
actively involved in clinical research throughout his medical
career. He has had the results of his cardiac research published in
many professional journals. Dr. Mathias is board certified by the
American Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty in
interventional cardiology.
