We locally pioneered the use of vagal nerve stimulation for the treatment of depression and were the first in the region to offer deep brain stimulation for tremors and Parkinson's disease.  Other regional firsts include preoperative embolization of a brain tumor and craniotomy for epilepsy treatment.
